distinctly understood that the Status of the Tin Fong has nothing to do with that of a Concubine. The two things are quite different.
As no correspondence can be found on the subject, it would seem probable that those who framed Ordinance 30 of 1890 supposed "Kit Fat" to be equivalent to "the principal wife". In any case, the insertion of the words "Tin Fong" was recommended by the Directors of the Fund in 1898, and approved by the whole Council. If the figures in the Schedule are in any way affected, which is not probable
an opportunity will be given for their revision by the Actuaries at the end of the current year.
